Solomon Retreat

established in 2009

“And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” Philippians 4:7

Solomon Retreat was established on December 15, 2018. Previously a private home, Dr. and Dr. Gbenga and Lola Adebanjo’s family decided to open it to the Christian community for a place of peace and refuge. It is a place set in a quiet location adequate for individual meditation and spiritual renewal.

It all started when Dr. Adebanjo shared his dream of owning a peaceful retreat center discussed his desire with his friend, Late John Shoemaker. Mr. Shoemaker took it upon himself to find the perfect property, and a few months later, did just that. Soon after, Dr. and Dr. Gbenga and Lola Adebanjo bought the property, allowing their family to enjoy the quietness and spiritual renewal of the home and surrounding land. Jesus Name Community Church has been the local worship center that the family fellowships with when in town. The family was very grateful for the provision of the facility, and enjoyed hosting many family and friends, especially Mr. and Mrs. John and Susan Shoemaker in the home. Not too long after, Mr. John Shoemaker took ill and after a protracted period, Mr. Shoemaker passed in 2016. We all dearly miss Mr. Shoemaker.

The Adebanjo family believes God blessed them with the property for His purpose. They wholeheartedly feel that God must be honored by opening the property for other believers to reconnect with Christ and seek spiritual renewal. Solomon Retreat is open for Christian reflection, fishing, feeding fish, hiking, and riding four wheelers. You are welcome to our home and we pray God will bless you with peace, joy, and love. We are forever grateful to God for His blessings in our lives.

May He be honored and glorified forever. Amen.
